Is there a product that you want to buy?

In today's fast-paced world, new products are constantly being released, and trends change rapidly. As a result, people often grow tired of their belongings and seek out new items.

For example, over 20 billion pairs of shoes were manufactured globally last year, with nearly 300 million of them ending up in landfills in the United States annually.

This excessive consumption also applies to digital devices, such as phones and notebooks. When a new version is released, consumers rush to the stores to purchase it. Apple, for instance, launches a new iPhone model each year, prompting consumers to upgrade. This results in millions of perfectly functional phones being discarded prematurely. The issue is that many users replace their devices not because the old ones are broken, but because they desire the latest features, fearing social exclusion if they don't keep up.

The phenomenon of overconsumption influences significantly our environment. Our obsession with goods, which leads to over-producing, contributes to greenhouse gas emissions.

"The higher the consumption, the higher the emissions associated with our lifestyles that aggravate other environmental issues", says Garcia, a PhD student at the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research at Sheffield Hallam University.

Overconsumption that we occur are resulting in negative aspects, therefore we should consider whether the products and goods we consume are essential, before buying them.
