Should Chinese products be banned?

As a highschool student, shopping always seems expensive. I started buying directly from China because it is cheaper than buying from Korean sites. With these lower prices, my satisfaction with the products naturally increased. More and more of the items in my home, especially consumables, were Chinese-made. However, I began to notice frequent news reports criticizing Chinese products. Governments, including those of Korea, the EU, Australia, and the U.S., announced regulations of Chinese imports and direct purchases.
This led me to a question; “Why are so many countries regulating products from China?”
Upon reading Melissa Eddy's article, I realized that the affordability of Chinese products often comes from not following the same safety and quality standards as other countries. Governments regulate these products to protect their citizens from potential harm, ensuring everything sold is safe.
However, I believe it's unfair to completely ban Chinese products. Instead, we should enforce strict safety and quality standards universally, regardless of the products’ origin. This would encourage Chinese manufacturers to improve and comply with these standards, allowing consumers to still access affordable options. Countries should collaborate to ensure all products are safe and high quality. This balanced approach would protect consumers while promoting fair trade and competition.
